I would then affirm that “the essence and nature of Cveto Marsic’s painting is its representation of itself in its purest material state and its most colourful intensity. We assign its representation of itself, however, at higher states of spirituality and purity that are, otherwise, fully abstract and ideal by nature ...”,

Abstract expressionism,
informalism,
material painting

When he visited Spain, the reddish tones of the Iberian soil and, above all, the wonderful landscape of the pastures of Extremadura fascinated him. He lived in very different places: not only Extremadura, but also in Madrid and Asturias. He also travelled around Italy, spent some time in Berlin, in Grajal de Campos, and has been living in Lisbon for a number of years. There is something about his gaze on Southern Europe that is unusual in southern painters, always almost inevitably close to equilibrium.
